Our Favorite 2018 Nursery Decor Trends

We’ve scoured Pintrest, Instagram and the most trend-savvy blogs to find the best style tips and updates for nurseries in 2018!   Here are some of our favorites!

1. 1. 1. All Natural

         In-the-know moms and dads are looking more and more to leave a smaller footprint and opt for eco-friendly products for their little ones. We’re talking about furniture, bedding and toys made out of natural components. And while you’re in the Natural theme, why not add some plants and flowers and play with a green color palette on the walls, trim and accessory choices! Learn more about the trend’s basics here.

      2. Mature Nurseries

         Your baby’s nursery doesn’t necessarily need to be baby-ish and filled with baby furniture, accessories and more items that your child will outgrow in a year. According to Pinterest’s 2018 trend report, parents are looking to decorate their little one’s room in a more mature and sophisticated way, with neutral colors, cozy textiles and chic furniture, so that some elements will last longer.

      3. Permanent Forts

         Once reserved to sleepovers, forts, made out of some blankets and pillows are becoming part of your child’s permanent decor in 2018. So instead of rebuilding the same old fort everyday, parents are creating small sanctuaries for their little one, with teepees or bed storage compartments with curtains.

      4. Minimalism and Organic Color Palettes

         Minimalism has already been trending for a while now, and it isn’t going anywhere in 2018. According to Sherwin Williams, the trend’s color palette will be more organic this year, with soft pinks, browns and greys to create color fluidity and harmony, as opposed to the classic contrasting black and white color palette.          Rugs, mobiles, curtains and other decorations are embellished with pom-poms this year, creating a whimsical, yet cozy atmosphere for your little one’s nursery.

      6. Metallics

         Bold and modern, but also clean and classic, metallics are making a come back. Rose gold, silver, pewter and bronze define this trend’s color palette. Small touches of metallics, in the drawer’ handles or the lamps, for example, will surely add contemporary style to your baby’s nusery.

         Your little one’s walls won’t be blank in 2018. Posters, photography prints, decals, paintings and other pieces of art are big. We’re loving this trend, as it’s a great way to add a little personality to your child’s room and it isn’t too permanent either!

      8. Gender-Neutral

         Forget traditional blue for boys and pink for girls. To avoid putting stereotypes on children, parents are now opting for gender-neutral decors in their little one’s nursery.
